Dog park - a unique attraction by the lake!

With pet owners in mind, we created afenced area where dogs can safely play, run, and rest. Our dog park is in a unique location – with a scenic view of Lake Czorsztyn, making daily walks even more enjoyable. We arranged an obstacle course for dogs to encourage activity and play, and for their owners – a comfortable bench with a lake view, perfect for a moment of relaxation.

We know a dog is family, so at Osada 12+ your pet is a full guest, not just an "accepted addition." We created this place for people who don't want to choose between luxury and traveling with their dog. For such trips, we offer the "Stay with Your Dog" package, ensuring maximum comfort for both.

You relax in spacious 110-square-meter suites with a private spa, while your dog enjoys its own enclosure, bowl, and welcome surprise, feeling at home from the start. It’s the perfect base for lakeside walks or Velo Czorsztyn rides—stress-free and fully relaxed, unlike typical hotels.

Dog stay rules at Osada 12+

We love pets, but as hosts we must ensure our interiors remain spotless for every next Guest. Extra cleaning after pets and possible minor damages require more work, so we introduced a clear fee system:

Small traveler (dog up to 10 kg): One-time fee per stay: 200 PLN.

Bigger challenges (dogs over 10 kg or more than one pet): The fee for the entire stay is 500 PLN.

We believe these rules help us keep the comfort and cleanliness you value at Osada12+ while letting you enjoy the Pieniny and Gorce close to your best friend.

Pieniny National Park with a dog – where is allowed, where is forbidden?

Although dogs are strictly prohibited on most trails in Pieniny National Park (including Trzy Korony and Sokolica), dog owners can legally walk the Pieniny Trail and many paths in the nearby Gorce Mountains and Luban range. Staying in Kluszkowce, where our Osada12+ is located, gives you direct access to trails in Gorce where dogs are welcome.

Official PNP rules

Pieniny National Park (PNP) enforces strict nature protection policies, meaning dogs are not allowed in strict and active protection areas by current regulations. This ban covers the region’s most popular tourist spots:

Trzy Korony and Sokolica: Complete ban on dogs (including small ones carried in backpacks).
Homole Gorge and Wysokie Skałki: Although in the Little Pieniny (outside PNP), local rules and reserve protection often restrict dogs here as well.

Where to walk legally? (Dog-friendly alternatives)

No access to Pieniny peaks does not mean a lack of walking trails. The Czorsztyn area offers some of Poland’s most beautiful paths, fully accessible to dog owners:

Pienińska Road: A true classic. The trail runs along the Dunajec Gorge from Szczawnica to the Red Monastery in Slovakia. The route is flat, wide, and follows the river, perfect for water-loving dogs.
Luban Range (Gorce): Just above Czorsztyn, the Gorce are much more dog-friendly. You can hike to the Luban summit (1211 m asl), where a lookout tower offers panoramic views of Lake Czorsztyn and the entire Tatra Mountains.
Velo Czorsztyn Trail: The asphalt route around the lake is ideal for a long walk or run with your dog. Numerous MOR (Cyclist Service Points) have shelters where you can rest together in the shade. Note: In high season, the path is crowded; we don't recommend walking here then to avoid disturbing cyclists.
Niedzica Dam Area: Walking along the dam crest and nearby clearings with views of both castles is a great option for a short, safe walk on a leash.

Keep in mind: In accessible areas (e.g., Pienińska Road), dogs must be kept on a leash.

Castles in Czorsztyn & Niedzica – visiting with a dog?

Dogs are not allowed inside Niedzica Castle or on the paid trail to Czorsztyn Castle ruins. However, you can freely walk with your dog on the outer grounds, admire both castles from viewing paths, and take your dog on the ferry between the castles.

Czorsztyn Castle (Wronin)

The Czorsztyn castle ruins belong to Pieniny National Park, which enforces strict rules:

Inside: Dogs are not allowed on the paid sightseeing route, including courtyards, terraces, and
Surroundings: You may approach the castle gate with your dog and walk nearby trails if your dog is on a leash. The view of the castle from the green hills above the lake is as impressive as from its walls.
Logistics from Kluszkowce: It's best to leave your car in Kluszkowce and walk part of the Velo Czorsztyn trail toward the castle – the route is scenic and very dog-friendly.

Dog entry rules

Niedzica Castle (Dunajec)

Niedzica Castle is privately owned (Art Historians Association), but the rules are similar:

Inside: Dogs are strictly prohibited in courtyards, the coach house, granary, and museum interiors.
Outside: The best way to "tour" with a dog is a walk along Niedzica Dam crest. From here, the castle looks best in photos, and dogs have plenty of space to roam.
Beach and clearings: Below the castle are a beach and wide clearings where tourists with dogs often rest (remember to clean up!).

How to combine touring and dog care?

If you really want to go inside, we recommend split visiting. One person stays outside with the dog (e.g., in a dog-friendly café by the marina), while the other tours the castle (visit lasts about 45-60 min).

At Mount Wdżar’s base, ideal after trekking to the summit or exploring the educational trail. The spacious terrace is perfect for a relaxing break with your pet after an active day.

Located right by the marina in Kluszkowce. A unique spot with a nautical atmosphere, where your dog can relax in the shade of umbrellas while you enjoy views of the lake and nearby castles.

What to do with your dog in Czorsztyn? Active options

Czorsztyn and Kluszkowce are rare mountain spots where dog activities go beyond walks – you can kayak, SUP, or cycle the Velo Czorsztyn trails with a dog trailer together.

Running, cycling, and bikejoring on Velo Czorsztyn. Smooth asphalt and wide shoulders allow safe running with dogs. Bike rentals offer special dog trailers, enabling the full 40 km loop around the lake with smaller or older dogs. Note: We recommend bikejoring only in low season when the trail is quiet. During peak season, heavy traffic can endanger the dog.
Kayaking and SUP. Stable polyethylene kayaks are ideal for bringing your dog aboard. SUP paddling with dogs is also growing in popularity—the lake’s surface early morning is usually calm, easing learning.
Boat and gondola cruises: The "Biała Flota" boats (Harnaś, Lubań) accept dogs on board (leash required, muzzle sometimes). A great way to admire buildings from the water without leaving your pet behind.
Dog-trekking. Dogs are welcome in the Gorce Mountains; we especially recommend the Kluszkowce–Lubania summit trail (blue path)—a tough but rewarding forest and clearing hike ending at one of Poland’s best viewpoints.
